All foreigners come from a rich country
At popular tourist hotspots, there's often an expectation that you'll buy souvenirs. If you do decide to purchase something, be aware of your surroundings. For example, if you buy a flower from one vendor, other florists nearby may approach you, and they may not leave until you've purchased from each of them. It's common to experience hard-selling tactics, as many vendors assume that, as a tourist, you are an easy target and have the means to buy from all of them.
Disrespect for Local Customs
There may also be a perception that some foreigners don’t fully understand or respect Myanmar's customs, traditions, or religion. For example, foreigners might unknowingly offend someone by dressing too casually in temples or public spaces, or they might not be aware of the significance of certain cultural practices. Personally, I believe that making unintentional mistakes is common when you're in a different culture, and most Myanmar people are quite forgiving in these situations. So, don't worry too much if you make a mistake—they'll usually let you know politely and move on without any trouble.
Negative perception on Foreign men marrying Myanmar women
Although this attitude has diminished significantly over time, many Myanmar men still believe that Myanmar women should not marry foreigners. If they do, it's usually frowned upon as there's a perception that it is somehow wrong or inappropriate. This view is rooted in traditional values, and while it's less prevalent today, it can still be found in some communities, especially among older generations or more conservative individuals.

In general, although there are some prejudices, unlike some first-world countries, the people of Myanmar do not typically see foreigners as threats to our jobs or as competitors for resources. Instead, we tend to view them in a positive light, believing they can help boost our tourism industry and contribute to the growth of our economy.
